Best Claude Skills for Testing (2026)

Testing skills stop a coding agent from writing code first and tests never. obra’s Test-Driven Development skill enforces red-green-refactor; Anthropic’s Testing Strategy skill decides which tests a change actually needs.

For the browser, Microsoft’s Playwright CLI skill and Anthropic’s Webapp Testing skill let an agent drive a real browser against your local app, and E2E Testing Patterns covers stable selectors, fixtures and flake control.

These are coding-agent skills first — install them in Claude Code or Cursor. BusinessMCP is the complement: your hosted MCP endpoint gives the same agents your analytics and product data when a test needs real-world context.

Frequently asked questions

Should I start with TDD or end-to-end tests?

Start with Test-Driven Development for new code, since it changes how the agent writes it. Add Playwright CLI or E2E Testing Patterns when a user journey breaks in ways unit tests do not catch.

Do testing skills run code on my machine?

The browser-testing skills do — that is their point — and two of them ship helper scripts. Each skill page says whether scripts are bundled and shows the skills.sh audit results, so you can read them before installing.
