How it works

  1. 1

Connect what the business already runs on

Install one tracking script, then connect Stripe, your ad accounts, Search Console, your CRM, your mailbox and — on Starter and above — your own database. Each one is an OAuth click or a key, not an integration project.

  2. 2

    We host the server

Your workspace gets an MCP endpoint at /api/mcp with a Bearer key. No container to run, no tunnel to keep open, no config file to copy onto every laptop. It speaks the 2026-07-28 revision of the protocol and updates when that does.

  3. 3

    Point any AI at it

Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor or your own agent. The same endpoint answers all of them, so a question about last month’s revenue reaches the same data whichever assistant somebody happens to be using.

The per-client config — Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, VS Code — is in the connection docs, which is the one place those snippets live.

What the endpoint actually exposes

The difference between hosting MCP servers and hosting your business as one.

Your business is the server

Most MCP hosting runs somebody else’s connectors for you. This exposes your own data as tools: web analytics, the visitor and company graph, CRM contacts and their timelines, Stripe revenue, ad spend, Search Console and AI-visibility results.

Your other MCP servers, aggregated

Connect a third-party MCP server and its tools are re-registered on your endpoint under an ext_ prefix, with the upstream’s own annotations. One connection for an agent to hold rather than a list that drifts out of date on each machine.

Scoped keys, not one root key

Every key carries an access policy built from data classes — revenue, contact PII, enrichment, behaviour, messaging. A read-only or no-revenue key advertises fewer tools and has its output redacted, so a contractor’s agent cannot read what it was not given.

OAuth, so Claude.ai accepts it

Claude.ai’s custom-connector UI takes OAuth credentials and has no field for a bearer token. We run a full OAuth 2.1 authorization server with PKCE, so adding your endpoint there is a login rather than a workaround, and the consent screen offers the scoped presets.

Same tools in the dashboard and the CLI

The endpoint registers the tools the in-app analyst uses. A capability does not ship to the dashboard and arrive at the endpoint a quarter later — it is one tool registry, so parity is structural rather than a roadmap promise.

Resources, prompts and an audit trail

A live business snapshot, your playbooks and the workspace memory are exposed as MCP resources; saved analyses are exposed as prompts. Every call is logged per key, and cost-bearing calls are metered against your plan.

What each plan includes

The endpoint itself is on every plan, including the free one. What changes is how much traffic it sees and how finely you can scope a key.

Where something else is the better choice

A capability page you can trust has to cut both ways. Honestly:

  • We do not host YOUR code. If you have written an MCP server and want somewhere to deploy it, Smithery or a container platform is the right answer — this hosts your business data, not your repository.
  • The third-party catalog is not the point here. Composio and Zapier MCP expose thousands of app integrations; we expose your own data plus whatever MCP servers you connect. If you want a marketplace of connectors to other people’s SaaS, start there.
  • It is a paid product above the free tier, and the free tier is genuinely small — 300 monthly visitors and 30 AI runs a month (at most five a day). A hobby project is better served by running a local server from a config file, which costs nothing.
  • You have to connect things for it to be worth anything. An endpoint over an empty workspace answers "no data" accurately and unhelpfully, and the first week is mostly OAuth clicks.

Hosted MCP, side by side

Sell your MCP server

Charge per call for your MCP server

A listing puts your server in front of people. Selling it through the BusinessMCP Hub gets you paid: buyers call your tools on the same key they use for our data tools, and we bill them per call at the price you set in credits. You earn $0.64 per 1,000 credits your tools bill: a fixed $0.80 per 1,000, less our 20% platform fee.

  • Reviewed before it goes live. Every server is scanned for prompt injection in its tool text and checked by hand, so buyers can trust the catalogue.
  • Your credentials stay sealed. The upstream key is encrypted to your server’s row and never shown to a buyer.
  • Paid through Stripe Connect. Earnings become payable 14 days after the buyer’s invoice is paid, and go out on the 15th of the month.

Frequently asked questions

What is MCP, in business terms?

The Model Context Protocol is a standard way for an AI assistant to call a tool. Before it, every assistant needed its own integration with every system, which is why "connect our data to AI" was a project. With it, you expose your data once and any assistant that speaks the protocol can reach it — the same shift that made a payment API something you buy rather than build.

Do I need a developer to set this up?

Not for the hosted path. Connecting a source is an OAuth click, the tracking script is one line of HTML, and pointing Claude or ChatGPT at the endpoint is pasting a URL and signing in. A developer helps if you want a custom MCP server for an internal system we do not have a connector for.

How is this different from just giving ChatGPT access to my spreadsheet?

A spreadsheet is a snapshot somebody exported. This is live: the assistant queries the data as it is now, across sources that were never in one place — what the ads spent, which companies visited the site, who replied, what they paid. The value is the join, and that join is the thing a spreadsheet cannot do.

Is my data used to train models?

No. Prompts go to whichever model you or we route them to, and that is disclosed in the sub-processor register on the privacy page. Connect your own Anthropic, OpenAI or Google key and the calls go to your account under your own terms instead of ours.

Can I limit what an agent can reach?

Yes, and this is the part most setups skip. Each API key carries an access policy built from data classes, so you can issue a key that reads analytics but never revenue or contact details. Tools outside the policy are not advertised to the model at all, and output is redacted on the way back — the restriction is enforced at the tool layer, not in a prompt.

What happens to the data if I leave?

Analytics, contacts and the full per-contact history export as CSV or JSON from the dashboard and from the API. The connected sources stay yours throughout — we hold OAuth tokens you can revoke at the provider, never a copy of the account.

Give your business an endpoint this afternoon

Install the script, connect Stripe and one ad account, and ask Claude what last month actually cost you. The free plan is enough to find out whether that is useful.
