Risk

Visitors are getting frustrated on /

17% of clicks on / are rage or dead clicks (32 of 184, 6 people) — a sign of broken, unresponsive or misleading UI.

Opportunity

18 "striking distance" keywords to win

You rank on page 1–2 (pos 5–20) for 18 queries with real impressions — e.g. "skills directory" at position 11. Small on-page moves could push these into the top 3.

Opportunity

HubSpot is cited 26 points more often than you

Across your tracked prompts, AI answers name HubSpot in 48% of grounded answers vs your 22% — and 1 other tracked brand also out-rank you. The sources those answers cite are the fastest lever.

Anomaly

Visitors jumped 58%

visitors moved from 118 to 186 week-over-week.

How it works

  1. 1

    Track the questions buyers ask

Add the unbranded questions your category gets asked — "best analytics tool for a small SaaS" — plus the competitors you want to be measured against. The generator proposes a set from your own site and Search Console data; you keep what fits.

  2. 2

    Weekly grounded probes

Every week each question is asked of every engine your plan enables, with live web retrieval switched on, several times per engine. Grounded answers are the only ones a citation rate is ever computed from.

  3. 3

See who gets cited, and from where

Per question and per engine: were you named, was a competitor named instead, and which third-party pages the engine leaned on. That last list is your PR and placement target list.

What you get

Built for the question that matters: when a buyer asks an AI, does it say your name?

Five engines

ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Claude. Which ones probe for you depends on plan; bring your own OpenAI, Google or Anthropic key and that engine runs on any tier at no extra cost.

Grounded vs recall, labelled

An answer written with live web search is a citation. An answer from the model’s memory is AI recall, and a brand launched after the training cut-off can never score there. The dashboard never mixes the two.

Every rate carries its range

Visibility is a proportion of a small sample, so every rate shows a 95% confidence interval: "42% ±11", not "42%". A week that reads 0 of 4 is not zero, and the interval says so.

Share of voice vs competitors

Your brand and each tracked competitor are scored in one pass over the same answers, so head-to-head standings and the share-of-voice trend are one uniform computation. Competitor suggestions are mined from the engines’ own answers.

The cited-domain list

Which third-party sites the engines cite for your questions, ranked by how often. This is the most actionable output on the page: the review sites, directories and articles to get listed on.

AI-crawler hits

GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and friends fetch your pages without running JavaScript. A server-side hook counts them, so you can see crawl activity next to the referrals it does or does not turn into.

Engines and questions by plan

Operator-funded probes are gated by plan because each one costs real money. An engine running on your own key never is.

Included probes per plan. A locked engine is shown in the dashboard with an upgrade path, never hidden.

Where Profound or Peec AI is the better choice

A capability page you can trust has to cut both ways. Honestly:

  • Profound measures more engines. Grok bills per cited source (roughly $0.25–$0.50 a probe) and the Bing/Copilot APIs were retired in 2025, so we deliberately skip both; if you need Grok or Copilot coverage, Profound is the better choice.
  • We probe weekly, not daily. Peec AI and Profound run daily prompts. Weekly is what keeps the cheaper plans affordable and the sample sizes honest per dollar, but if you are running a launch and want day-over-day movement, a daily tool serves you better.
  • Sample sizes are small on cheaper plans, so intervals are wide. A Free workspace measuring recall on five questions will see ranges like "±30". That is the truth of the data, not a display bug, and a wider-sampling tool narrows it faster.
  • No prompt-volume estimates and no AEO writing assistant. Peec and Profound estimate how often a prompt is actually asked; several tools draft content meant to get cited. We measure and point at the sources; the writing stays with you.
  • API answers are not exactly what a user sees in the chat window. Published overlap between API and web-UI brand mentions is around 24%, so every number here is directional. Any tool that hides this is overselling; we label it on the page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AI recall and a citation rate?

A citation rate is computed only from answers where the engine used live web retrieval and then named you. AI recall is what the model says from memory with no retrieval. Recall cannot cite a brand that launched after the model was trained, so reporting it as a citation rate would be false. BusinessMCP shows the two as separate numbers; the Free and Starter plans measure recall on the included model unless you bring your own engine key.

Why does every rate show a range like 42% ±11?

Because visibility is a binomial proportion measured on a handful of samples. A 95% Wilson interval says how much the true rate could differ from the observed one. We use Wilson rather than the simpler Wald formula because at zero hits Wald returns a range of exactly zero, which asserts certainty from no evidence; at ten samples with zero mentions the honest upper bound is still around 28%.

How often are the engines probed?

Weekly. Each tracked question is asked of each enabled engine several times per week, with more samples on the cheaper surfaces (Google AI Overviews and Gemini) and fewer on the expensive ones (ChatGPT, Claude). A question you add mid-week is probed immediately for that week rather than waiting for the next cycle.

Are API answers the same as what someone sees in ChatGPT?

No, and no tool can promise otherwise. The consumer chat interfaces add personalization, memory and their own retrieval layers. Published measurements put brand overlap between API answers and the web UI at roughly a quarter, so treat every AI-visibility number, ours included, as directional: good for trends and for spotting which competitors and sources the engines lean on, not as an audited count.

What does it cost, and do I pay per probe?

Probes are included in the plan. Free measures AI recall on 5 questions; Starter ($19) raises that to 8 questions; Growth ($79) adds Google AI Overviews and Gemini (grounded) with 15 questions; Scale ($199) adds Perplexity and ChatGPT (web search) with 25 questions; Business ($499) adds Claude (web search) with 40 questions. Your own OpenAI, Google or Anthropic key runs that engine on any tier and costs us nothing, so it is never plan-gated. There is no per-probe metering.
