How it works

From one script to an answer

  1. 01

    One first-party script

Paste a small cookieless snippet, or serve it from your own subdomain such as link.yourdomain.com so ad blockers see first-party traffic. It captures pageviews, goals, UTMs, click ids and engaged time without setting a cookie.

  2. 02

Numbers that mean what they say

Visitors are unique people, not sessions. Channels split paid, organic, social, referral, direct and AI-assistant referrals, with crawlers and AI agents counted in their own panel instead of inflating the humans.

  3. 03

Ask, instead of building a report

The AI business analyst reads the same data, cites the metric and timeframe behind every figure, and can chart it. Your own Claude or ChatGPT can query it through your MCP endpoint, on the free plan.

What you get

Cookieless and GDPR-first

No cookies, no fingerprinting, no personal profiles. A visitor id lives in the browser and rotates daily on the server; identification is company-level unless someone tells you who they are. We require no banner; your own posture stays yours.

Ad-blocker resilient, first-party

The script and its beacon are first-party, and a verified subdomain (the same one that serves your booking page) keeps them off blocklists. Sites moving from third-party tags routinely see more of their real traffic.

Channels that include AI, and a crawler panel

A human referred by ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini lands in an AI channel. GPTBot, ClaudeBot and the search crawlers are counted server-side and shown apart, so you can see AI crawl volume without it polluting sessions.

Six attribution models, computed on demand

First, last, last non-direct, linear, U-shaped and time-decay — the models GA4 dropped — over every session ever recorded, unified across devices when a visitor identifies. Compare all six on one goal in one click.

Goals, funnels and real revenue

Autocaptured events and named goals with lead or conversion roles, ordered funnels as cohorts, and revenue pulled from your own Stripe account so a channel report shows dollars, not proxies.

An MCP endpoint and an Events API

Every read the dashboard can do is a tool on your hosted MCP endpoint, so Claude or ChatGPT can query your analytics with a scoped key. Track, identify and group server-side through the Events API; subscribe to webhooks.

What the free plan includes

Everything on this page except company identification, which starts on Starter at $19/mo.

300 visitors, 2,000 events a month

Cookieless analytics, goals, funnels, all six attribution models and CSV export. Overage or an upgrade when you outgrow it; the data is never dropped at capture.

30 AI business analyst runs a month

The analyst on the included AI tier, with full context on your numbers — at most five runs in one day. Starter raises it to 250 a month with no daily ceiling.

Your own MCP endpoint

Unlimited reads from your own Claude or ChatGPT through a scoped key — the same tools the analyst uses, on the free plan.

Paid plans start at $19/mo and are month-to-month; details on the pricing page.

Where GA4, Plausible or Matomo is the better choice

A capability page you can trust has to cut both ways. Honestly:

  • You live in GA4 explorations or need BigQuery export and native Google Ads linking. GA4 is free and does all three; we have a day-level GA4 history import, not a replacement for those workflows.
  • You want a public, shareable stats page for a blog or an open project. Plausible and Fathom have one; we do not.
  • You must self-host or want open source. Matomo and Umami run on your own server; BusinessMCP is hosted only, though the gateway security code is published under MIT.
  • You need product analytics — feature flags, cohort retention, per-user funnels inside an app. That is PostHog or Mixpanel territory; we measure a marketing site and a funnel, then hand off to a CRM.
  • Your site draws well over 300 unique visitors a month and you want to stay free forever. Our free plan caps at 300; Plausible and Fathom are paid from the first visitor, GA4 is free at any size.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a cookie banner to use BusinessMCP analytics?

Not for us. The tracker sets no cookie and builds no cross-site profile, so the ePrivacy cookie-consent rule is not what applies to it; most privacy-first tools take the same position. You remain the controller of your own site, so if you also run ad pixels, replays or identification in a consent regime, you may still need a banner for those, and the script supports a gate-all or split consent mode that waits for it. Our tracking-laws guide covers this country by country.

How long is the data kept?

Raw events are retained for up to 13 months. Sessions and daily rollups — the numbers every report reads — are kept for the life of the account, which is also why the six attribution models can run over your whole history rather than a fixed window. Per-visitor lifetime profiles persist as long as the workspace does.

Can I import my Google Analytics history?

Yes, at the day level. Connect a GA4 property and we import users, sessions and conversions per day into a "before you had us" view, so the switch does not open a hole in your charts. It is Google’s definitions and Google’s day-level sums — no journeys, and "users" is a per-day total because GA4 never computes a window-distinct figure — so it is shown beside the first-party numbers, never merged into them.

What about ad blockers?

The script and the beacon are first-party, and on a verified subdomain of your own domain they are indistinguishable from your site to a blocklist, which is what most blockers key on. Nothing defeats a visitor who blocks all scripts, and we do not try; the goal is that the measurement gap comes from that minority, not from a third-party hostname.

Where is the data hosted?

The application database and the raw analytics event store are in the EU (the event store is in London). The web application runs on a global edge network. Every vendor, its purpose and its location are listed in the sub-processor register on our privacy page, and the DPA commits to 30 days’ notice before a new non-optional one is added.
