One key, two ways in, one bill.

Get a key

Sign up and create an mcph_ key in the developer portal. The first 1,000 credits each month are free, and no card is asked for.

Call it over REST or MCP

The same key and the same tools answer a curl request, your backend, or an agent in Claude, Cursor or any MCP client.

Pay only past the allowance

Every response says what it cost. Go past the free credits and you add a card; a monthly cap you control stops anything beyond it.

Why this one

An IP graph we build ourselves

IP to company is answered from a graph we compile every night from public registry, routing and DNS data — not a resold vendor feed. It separates companies from ISPs, clouds, VPNs and secure-egress gateways, and says which it is.

These are the lookups behind BusinessMCP’s cookieless analytics and visitor identification, with the same checks that stop one business’s listing being reported under another company’s domain.

How we identify visitors

Honest misses

Lookups that find nothing refund their credit. A site or DNS server we could not read comes back as unknown and is refunded, never reported as a failure of yours.

No people data

Every tool here returns company, network or website facts. The email-pattern tool returns a company’s address format, never a person’s address, and nothing here returns data about an individual.

Separate from the BusinessMCP plans: the Data API is billed on its own, per credit, and a card is only needed past the free allowance.

A new paying account is capped at 50,000 billable credits a month ($100 at the first tier) until you change it — anywhere from 1,000 to 50,000,000. Keys can carry a cap of their own.

When something else is the better choice

If you need contacts and verified personal email addresses, this is not it today: there are no people tools in the catalogue, and a people-data vendor is the right purchase.
IP identification is only as good as the network. Home and mobile connections name no company, so a large share of real visitors resolve to an ISP — and we will not guess a company for them.
There is no file-upload or asynchronous batch job. Bulk tools take a bounded list per request, so enriching a million rows is a lot of requests.
It is new. There is no published uptime SLA or status page yet, and the catalogue is our own tools only.

Frequently asked questions

What is a credit?

The unit every tool is priced in. Each tool costs a fixed number of credits per call, or per item for the bulk tools, and every response reports what it charged in meta.credits_charged. The first 1,000 credits each calendar month are free for BusinessMCP’s own tools; after that the graduated price starts at $2.00 per 1,000 credits and falls to $0.80 at volume.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. A card is only needed once you go past the free allowance. Until then a call that would need billing is refused with HTTP 402 and an upgrade_url, never charged. Paying accounts start with a cap of 50,000 billable credits a month, which you can change.

What am I charged when a lookup finds nothing?

Tools marked "only when a result is found" refund a miss — an unknown domain in a company lookup costs nothing. The others charge per call because the answer is the result: an IP that resolves to an ISP, or a site graded C, is still an answer. Any call that fails on our side is refunded.

Can I use it from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor?

Yes. Clients that take a bearer key — Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code — connect to the Hub MCP endpoint directly and see every tool. Claude.ai and ChatGPT only accept OAuth, so they reach the same tools through your BusinessMCP workspace endpoint, which carries hub_company_lookup, hub_ip_lookup, hub_lead_check, hub_email_auth_check, hub_ai_readiness, hub_search_tools, hub_call_tool. Billing is identical either way.

Is this the same key as my BusinessMCP workspace?

It can be. One mcph_ key reaches both the workspace endpoint and the Hub, and a key can be narrowed to the Hub only, in which case it never sees workspace data.

Where does the data come from?

IP answers come from our own IP graph, rebuilt nightly from public internet registry, routing and DNS data. Company answers come from our company store, assembled from public registries, open datasets and our own crawl of company websites. The website checks fetch the site when you call them.

Is there an OpenAPI document?

Yes, generated from the same registry as the tools, at https://businessmcp.com/api/hub/v1/openapi.json, and the catalogue with every input schema and price is public at https://businessmcp.com/api/hub/v1/tools — no key needed.
