The full picture

Peec AI is the European favourite in this category: clean reporting on brand visibility, position and sentiment across the engines you pick, with competitor benchmarking and source analysis. After its August 2026 pricing restructure the self-serve ladder is EUR-denominated and annual-first: Starter €70, Pro €180 and Advanced €360 per month billed annually (€85, €205 and €425 month-to-month), for 50, 150 and 350 prompts. Every tier includes three engines of your choice from a pool of seven; a fourth or fifth is a paid add-on, and Claude sits on Enterprise only.

BusinessMCP answers the same question with a different posture. Every rate carries a 95% confidence interval, so 3 mentions in 10 answers is never reported as a flat "30%"; grounded engines are fixed per plan rather than chosen (Growth: Google AI Overviews + Gemini; Scale adds Perplexity + ChatGPT; Business adds Claude); and the citation numbers sit beside the AI-crawler hits and AI-assistant referrals in your own first-party analytics. If you want a standalone GEO dashboard with more engine choice, Peec is the better standalone. If you want visibility measured honestly inside the tool that already runs your analytics and CRM, keep reading.

Why teams switch

Intervals, not point estimates

Peec reports visibility as a percentage. BusinessMCP reports it as a Wilson interval, pooled by trials across engines, and only flags a week-over-week change as conclusive when the intervals justify it. On the sample sizes any of these tools run, that is the difference between a trend and noise.

Engines are included, not chosen and added

Peec’s three-engine cap means a Pro customer who wants ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and AI Mode pays for two add-ons. BusinessMCP’s Scale plan grounds four engines for $199 per month flat, and Business grounds all five including Claude, which Peec offers only on Enterprise.

Visibility next to the traffic it produces

Citations are a means; the end is the human who clicks through from an assistant. BusinessMCP’s analytics classify AI-assistant referrals as their own channel and count crawler hits from GPTBot, ClaudeBot and friends, so you can see crawl → citation → visit on one screen.

Month-to-month, in dollars

Peec’s headline prices assume annual billing and a monthly plan costs about 20% more. Every BusinessMCP self-serve plan is month-to-month, and annual is optional (two months free).

Where BusinessMCP is NOT the right choice

An alternatives page you can trust has to cut both ways. Honestly:

  • We measure five answer engines at most (Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, ChatGPT, Claude). Profound’s enterprise tier tracks up to nine platforms and Scrunch adds Meta AI; nobody, including us, can probe Copilot or Bing since Microsoft retired those APIs in 2025.
  • We measure weekly, not daily. Profound Growth, Otterly and Semrush’s toolkit re-run prompts every day. If you need to see a change within 24 hours of shipping a page, they are faster.
  • Sample sizes on the cheaper plans are small, so the intervals are wide. Zero mentions in five Gemini answers still leaves a 95% upper bound near 28% — we print that interval instead of a false-precision "0%", which some people find less satisfying than a single number.
  • We do not estimate prompt volume. Ahrefs Brand Radar ranks prompts against a 475M-prompt database and Semrush ships prompt research; we tell you whether you are cited for the questions you chose to track, not how often people ask them.
  • There is no AEO content writer or page-recommendation engine here. We surface the third-party domains the engines cite so you know where to earn placements; writing the content is on you.
  • Free and Starter measure AI recall only — whether a model knows the brand from training data — because those plans include no web-grounded engine. A grounded citation rate starts on Growth, or on any plan once you connect your own OpenAI, Gemini or Anthropic key.
  • API answers are not what a person sees in the chat UI (published overlap studies put brand agreement well under 100%). Every tool in this category has that caveat; we label the numbers directional rather than pretend otherwise.

Frequently asked questions

Which engines does BusinessMCP measure compared with Peec AI?

BusinessMCP grounds Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, ChatGPT and Claude — fixed per plan, all included. Peec lets you choose three from ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Perplexity, Gemini and Grok on self-serve plans, sells extra engines as add-ons, and reserves Claude for Enterprise.

Is BusinessMCP cheaper than Peec AI?

At the entry: Peec Starter is €70 per month billed annually (about €840 up front) for 50 prompts on three engines; BusinessMCP Growth is $79 per month with no contract for 15 questions on two grounded engines, plus analytics and CRM. At the top, Peec Advanced is €360/mo annual for 350 prompts; BusinessMCP Business is $499/mo for 40 questions on five engines. Peec wins on prompt volume; BusinessMCP wins on engines included and on what else the subscription covers.

Why only 15–40 tracked questions?

Every question is probed several times per engine per week (five samples on Gemini and AI Overviews, for example), which is what makes the confidence intervals meaningful. Fewer well-sampled questions beat hundreds of single-shot ones for deciding whether visibility actually moved.

Does BusinessMCP support multi-country tracking like Peec Pro?

No. BusinessMCP probes each question once per engine per week in a single locale. If you need visibility by country, Peec’s Pro and Advanced tiers (three countries) are built for that.

How to migrate

  1. 1

Copy your Peec prompts across, keeping the unbranded category questions; a branded question ("is Acme good?") measures recall, not recommendation, and BusinessMCP will not propose one.

  2. 2

Recreate your competitor set, then accept or reject the additional brands BusinessMCP mines from the engines’ own answers.

  3. 3

Give it two weekly cycles before comparing. Peec’s daily point estimates and BusinessMCP’s weekly intervals describe the same reality at different resolutions.

  4. 4

If you relied on Copilot or Grok data in Peec, note that neither is available in BusinessMCP; Microsoft retired the Copilot/Bing APIs in 2025 and Grok bills per cited source, so we skip both.
