Composio gives an agent other people’s apps; BusinessMCP gives it your analytics, CRM, revenue and connected tools through one governed endpoint, free to start.

Switching gets you
An MCP endpoint whose tools ARE your business data, with scoped access policies and redaction, that plugs into Claude.ai or ChatGPT over OAuth 2.1.
Stay with Composio if
You are building an agent that must act inside many third-party SaaS apps — Composio’s managed OAuth across 1,500+ toolkits is exactly that job, and we do not do it.

The full picture

Composio is a tool layer for agent builders: connect a toolkit (Gmail, GitHub, Notion, Salesforce, 1,500+ of them), let Composio handle the OAuth, and call the actions from your agent. The pricing is developer-shaped — a free Hobby tier with 100,000 tool calls a month, a $29/month Pro tier that includes $29 of usage credit and then meters at $0.0003 per tool call, and an Enterprise tier on request. It is a good product for the job it was built for.

BusinessMCP is built for a different job. Instead of hosting other companies’ tools, it hosts one MCP endpoint over your own company: web analytics, the CRM, revenue from Stripe, ads, SEO and social, plus the tools you have connected and any upstream MCP servers you already run. Any external agent — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, a CLI — gets that whole picture through one Bearer key, with access policies and redaction enforced where the tool executes rather than in a prompt. The free plan includes the endpoint, with unlimited reads through it from your own Claude or ChatGPT.

If your question is “how do I let an agent act inside our SaaS apps”, Composio answers it. If your question is “how do I let an agent read our business without handing it the database”, this page is for you — and the two stack without conflict.

Why teams switch

Your data is the tool, not a toolkit you have to assemble

On Composio the unit is a third-party app action. On BusinessMCP the unit is a fact about your business: get_analytics, get_attribution, list_contacts, get_ads_stats, get_seo_insights, get_social_stats, get_business_health. The tracking script and the connections populate them; nothing has to be wired action by action.

Governance at the tool layer

Every mcph_* key runs under an access policy. Five presets — Read-only, No revenue, No contact PII, Analytics-only, No-send — plus custom policies on Enterprise. A gated data class is removed from the advertised tool list, refused at execution and redacted from output, including error strings. Sending email is approval-gated. Composio scopes are per connected account; it has no notion of “this key may not see revenue”.

One key covers your upstream MCP servers too

The MCP servers your team already runs are aggregated by the gateway and registered as first-class ext_<server>_<tool> tools on the same endpoint, under the same policy. The gateway’s SSRF guard — the part that decides which upstream hosts it will talk to at all — is published under MIT so you can read what it refuses.

No per-call meter for reading your own business

Composio meters tool calls past the free allowance ($0.0003 each on Pro, more on Composio-managed OAuth apps). BusinessMCP plans are priced on visitors, events and AI runs; reads through the endpoint from your own Claude or ChatGPT are not metered, on any plan including Free.

Pro$29/moincludes $29 monthly usage credit (no rollover); then $0.0003 per tool call, $0.003 per trigger; 10,000 API requests/min; DPA included

EnterpriseCustomvolume commitments, annual invoicing, SSO/SCIM, customer-managed keys, SLAs

Composio prices are from composio.dev/pricing on 2026-09-15. The two products meter different things: Composio counts tool calls into third-party apps; BusinessMCP counts your website visitors, events and AI runs.

Where BusinessMCP is NOT the right choice

An alternatives page you can trust has to cut both ways. Honestly:

  • BusinessMCP does not host arbitrary third-party MCP servers for developers. If you want to publish a server for other people to install, or you need a catalog of community servers to plug into an agent, Composio, Smithery or Zapier MCP are the right kind of tool — we host one endpoint over your own business.
  • We have far fewer app integrations than Zapier’s 9,000+ or Composio’s 1,500+ toolkits. Our connectors cover the tools a business runs on (GitHub, Slack, Notion, HubSpot, Stripe, the ad and social platforms), and anything else has to arrive through an MCP server you connect yourself.
  • There is no marketplace and no billing for server authors. Nobody earns money by publishing to BusinessMCP, and there is no usage-based tool-call meter to monetise a server on.
  • We are a younger product than the marketplaces on this page, with a smaller community and fewer published integrations. You get a governed endpoint and direct founder support, not a catalog with thousands of entries.

Frequently asked questions

Is BusinessMCP a replacement for Composio?

Not for what Composio is for. Composio lets an agent act inside 1,500+ third-party apps with managed OAuth; BusinessMCP lets an agent read and act on your own business data through one governed endpoint. Most teams that want both keep both.

What does Composio actually cost?

The Hobby tier is free with 100,000 tool calls and 50,000 triggers a month. Pro is $29/month including $29 of usage credit, then $0.0003 per tool call and $0.003 per trigger; apps that use Composio’s own OAuth carry only 20,000 free calls and add $0.0005 per call. Enterprise is custom. Verified on composio.dev/pricing on 2026-09-15.

Can I connect my own MCP servers to BusinessMCP the way Composio connects toolkits?

Yes. Upstream MCP servers you already run are aggregated by the gateway and exposed as ext_<server>_<tool> tools under the same key and policy. It is an aggregation of your own servers, not a public catalog of other people’s.

Does the free plan really include the MCP endpoint?

Yes. The Free plan ($0, 300 unique visitors and 2,000 events a month) includes your own MCP endpoint with unlimited reads through it from your own Claude or ChatGPT. Company identification and the AI SDR start on paid plans.

How do access policies work?

Each key is issued under a policy. Presets are Read-only, No revenue, No contact PII, Analytics-only and No-send; Enterprise adds custom policies. A gated data class is hidden from the tool list, refused at execution and redacted from output; sending email always goes through an approval.

Zapier MCP

Run both

Composio for acting in third-party apps, BusinessMCP for reading your own business — an agent can carry both endpoints.

How to migrate

  1. 1

Keep Composio for the third-party actions your agent performs — nothing on BusinessMCP replaces that.

  2. 2

Install the BusinessMCP tracking script and connect Stripe, GitHub, Slack and your ad or social accounts; the platform tools populate from those.

  3. 3

Create an mcph_* key under a policy (start with Read-only), add https://businessmcp.com/api/mcp as a second connector in Claude.ai or ChatGPT, and test it with the free MCP server tester.

  4. 4

If you already run your own MCP servers, connect them as upstreams so they appear as ext_* tools on the same key.
