The full picture

AB Tasty sells experimentation, personalization, recommendations and feature rollouts as modules, and its pricing page is explicit that there are no fixed plans — “just a custom proposal built around your goals and scope”, based on your traffic over the past twelve months or monthly active users. There is no free tier and no self-serve trial; you get a one-to-two-week proof of concept through sales. Published 2026 teardowns report $15,000–$45,000 a year for 50k–250k sessions, $40,000–$90,000 up to a million, and $80,000–$150,000+ for the full platform; Vendr’s median contract is $66,500. AB Tasty merged with VWO in January 2026.

BusinessMCP is the split test for a marketing site that does not have a CRO team. The engine reads your heatmaps and session replays for eight named failure modes, ranks the candidates by ICE, proposes a test with a written hypothesis and the numbers behind it, and the AI opens a GitHub pull request implementing variant B. It runs flicker-free, is measured per visitor, and refuses to name a winner before 300 visitors and 25 conversions per arm and 14 days. It is one part of the $199 Scale plan, beside analytics, replay, the CRM and the AI business analyst.

Why teams switch

A price you can read

AB Tasty does not publish prices and does not sell month to month; teardowns start mid-market deals at $15,000 a year. BusinessMCP’s Scale plan is $199 a month, cancellable monthly, and it is the same plan that carries analytics, replay and the CRM.

The hypothesis comes with evidence

Every proposed test shows the rows it was computed from — dead clicks on a specific element, the scroll depth where visitors stopped, form starts against completions. AB Tasty gives you a strong platform for testing an idea; it does not derive the idea from your friction data.

The variant gets built

The AI writes a CSS-only variant B gated on the visitor’s arm and opens a pull request against your repo. That is more work than a visual editor for a copy tweak, and less work than the ticket you would otherwise file for anything a visual editor cannot reach.

Replay and heatmaps are in the same tool

AB Tasty relies on partner integrations for replay. BusinessMCP’s recordings, click maps and rage-click detection are what the test proposals are computed from, on the same snippet.

Where BusinessMCP is NOT the right choice

An alternatives page you can trust has to cut both ways. Honestly:

  • There is no visual or WYSIWYG editor. VWO, Optimizely, AB Tasty, Convert and Kameleoon all let a marketer click a headline and retype it; in BusinessMCP every variant is code in a pull request, so someone on your side has to be comfortable reviewing a diff.
  • It needs a codebase on GitHub and a human to review and merge the PR. A site on a hosted builder with no repository (a Webflow, Wix or Squarespace site, a Shopify theme nobody keeps in git) cannot run our split tests at all.
  • We only split-test web pages. There is no multivariate testing, no personalization engine, no server-side SDKs for mobile or backend experiments, and no feature flags — if you need any of those, the tools on this page are the right category and we are not.
  • A/B testing sits on the Scale plan at $199/mo. VWO’s free Starter tier, Kameleoon’s 30-day trial and Convert’s 15-day trial all cost less to start, and the $199 buys you the whole platform whether or not you use the rest of it.
  • Our stats module is deliberately simple: a two-proportion z-test behind a fixed minimum-sample-and-14-day guard. Optimizely’s sequential Stats Engine and the Bayesian engines in VWO and AB Tasty let a statistically literate team stop early on purpose; ours will not let you.

Frequently asked questions

Does BusinessMCP do personalization like AB Tasty?

No. BusinessMCP runs split tests and before/after measurements on web pages. It has no personalization engine, no segment-targeted experiences and no product recommendations; if those are why you bought AB Tasty, keep it.

How much does A/B testing cost in BusinessMCP?

It is part of the Scale plan at $199 a month, which also includes analytics for 10,000 monthly visitors, 30-day session replay, the CRM, the AI SDR and the AI business analyst. There is no separate experimentation fee and no annual contract.

What does “the AI opens a PR” actually mean?

The AI creates a branch in your connected GitHub repository, commits a CSS-only variant keyed on the visitor’s assigned arm plus the pre-paint bootstrap, and opens a pull request. It never commits to your default branch; a human reviews and merges, and the experiment card shows the PR link.

How does BusinessMCP stop me peeking at results?

The results table hides the confidence column until every arm has 300 visitors and 25 conversions and 14 days have passed. A winner is never named on p-value alone.
