Pre-Mortem, published by phuryn in the pm-skills repository under MIT, runs a pre-mortem risk analysis on a PRD or launch plan. The agent reads the plan, imagines the product launches in 14 days and then fails, and works backward to what went wrong. Each risk is classified as a Tiger (a real problem backed by evidence or clear logic), a Paper Tiger (a concern others may raise that is unlikely or overblown) or an Elephant (something the team is not discussing enough and nobody is validating).
Tigers are then ranked as launch-blocking, fast-follow within 30 days or track, and every launch-blocking Tiger gets an action plan with the risk, a mitigation, an owner and a due date. The output follows a fixed structure and is saved as PreMortem-[product-name]-[date].md. The skill tells the agent to be constructive rather than assign blame, default to Tiger when unsure, and revisit the pre-mortem two to three weeks before launch. It is for product managers and launch teams; it identifies and plans around risks but cannot verify them.
Imported into BusinessMCP, the AI business analyst can follow it as a playbook and weigh risks against your actual funnel, CRM and revenue data.
