Find a specific CRM record by ID, email, domain, or name fragment, and traverse associations for the full account picture.

CRM Lookup, published by HubSpot under Apache-2.0, teaches the agent to find HubSpot CRM records from the terminal with the hubspot CLI and read their associations. It is read-only. It tells the agent to treat hubspot --help as authoritative, pull the live property list rather than assume a schema, and start from a suggested property set for contacts, companies, deals and tickets, including where ad and campaign attribution lives on contacts.

The patterns are specific: batch-get up to about 100 records by ID in one call; exact-match searches by email or domain, normalised to lowercase, with multiple filters OR'd; token-based name matching narrowed further with jq, since ~ matches whole words only; and associated records fetched in two calls (associations list piped into a batch objects get) rather than one process per record with xargs. Search returns at most 100 rows a page, and the skill defers pagination and any follow-on write to HubSpot's companion bulk-operations skill and its dry-run then confirm flow. It is for reps and admins who want CRM answers without leaving the terminal.

Because it depends on the hubspot CLI, this skill is mainly for coding agents such as Claude Code; BusinessMCP cannot run those commands, and its own CRM has separate search and timeline tools.

What you can do with it

  • Find a HubSpot contact by exact email address
  • List every contact associated with a company
  • Pull open deals for a contact in two CLI calls
  • Batch-fetch up to about 100 records by ID

Frequently asked questions

Can CRM Lookup change records?

No. The skill is read-only. If a lookup feeds an update, delete or merge, it defers to HubSpot's bulk-operations skill and its dry-run then confirm flow.

What does it need to run?

The hubspot CLI with access to your portal, plus jq for narrowing results. It also relies on HubSpot's companion bulk-operations skill for pagination.

How do I install CRM Lookup?

Run `npx skills add hubspot/agent-cli-skills --skill crm-lookup`, or import it from the BusinessMCP dashboard as a playbook; the CLI commands still need a terminal agent to run them.
