MCP servers for Claude Desktop
Claude Desktop reads MCP servers from a JSON config file and shows their tools in the composer once you restart it.
Connect BusinessMCP to Claude Desktop
One entry for every tool you have connected, rather than one config block per server with its own credential. Add this to claude_desktop_config.json:
- 1Open Claude Desktop, then Settings → Developer → Edit Config. That opens claude_desktop_config.json.
- 2Paste the block above, replacing the placeholder with a key from your BusinessMCP dashboard.
- 3Restart Claude Desktop. Your tools appear in the tool menu.
- 4Ask something only your data can answer — "what were my top channels last week?" — and Claude calls the tool rather than guessing.

Frequently asked questions
Where is claude_desktop_config.json?
Claude Desktop opens it for you from Settings → Developer → Edit Config, which is more reliable than hunting for the path — it differs by operating system and the file may not exist until you create it there.
Do I need one config entry per server?
With raw MCP, yes — every server is its own entry with its own credential. Connecting through BusinessMCP is one entry for all of them, because the gateway exposes everything your workspace has connected behind a single endpoint.
Why does Claude not see my tools after editing the config?
It reads the file at launch, so a full restart is required — not just closing the window. If they still do not appear, the file almost certainly has a JSON syntax error; Claude fails silently on a malformed config.
One endpoint, every tool, in Claude Desktop
Connect your stack once and it is reachable from Claude Desktop — and from every other AI you use — without a config block per server.
