MCP servers for ChatGPT
ChatGPT connects to remote MCP servers over HTTP and signs in over OAuth, so a hosted endpoint works with no config file and no API key.
Connect BusinessMCP to ChatGPT
One entry for every tool you have connected, rather than one config block per server with its own credential. Paste this URL under Settings → Connectors — there is no API key to create, because ChatGPT signs you in over OAuth.
- 1Open ChatGPT Settings and find Connectors.
- 2Add a custom connector and give it the endpoint URL above. That is the whole config — there is nothing else to paste.
- 3You are sent to BusinessMCP to sign in and choose how much access to grant. ChatGPT has no field for a bearer token, so do not create a key for this.
- 4Start a chat and ask for something from your own data — the connector appears as an available tool.

Frequently asked questions
Does ChatGPT support MCP?
It connects to remote MCP servers — ones reachable over HTTP with their own auth. A local stdio server is not reachable from ChatGPT, which is the practical reason to put a hosted endpoint in front of your tools.
Where do I paste my API key?
You do not. ChatGPT adds connectors through its own UI and authenticates over OAuth — there is no bearer-token field. Paste the URL, sign in, and pick an access preset on the consent screen. A key is only for clients that read a config file, like Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code.
Is a hosted endpoint safe to give ChatGPT?
It is as safe as the access you grant on the consent screen. Pick a preset that covers the data classes you want reachable, and the endpoint refuses anything outside them regardless of what the model asks for. You can revoke it later in Settings → API & access.
Can I use the same endpoint with Claude and Gemini?
Yes — that is the point of MCP being a protocol rather than a product. One endpoint, and the same tools everywhere. Claude.ai and ChatGPT both sign in over OAuth; Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Gemini via the mcp-remote bridge take a key instead.
One endpoint, every tool, in ChatGPT
Connect your stack once and it is reachable from ChatGPT — and from every other AI you use — without a config block per server.
