What is an SEO MCP server?
It exposes an SEO tool to AI models through the Model Context Protocol, as functions the model can call itself — Search Console as a query rather than an export, a crawler as "fetch this page and tell me what is wrong with it", a search API as a live look at who currently ranks. The model discovers what is available and picks; you do not wire up each call.
Which one do I actually need?
Usually three, not one. Search Console for what you already rank for, a crawler like Firecrawl or Jina for reading pages as text, and a search API like Exa or Tavily for what is out there now. Everything else on this list is a variation on one of those three jobs, and the CMS servers at the end are for publishing the result.
Are any of these free?
Several are free to run but bill you at the vendor — Firecrawl, Exa, Tavily and Bright Data are all metered API keys, so the server costs nothing and the calls do. The Search Console and Google Analytics servers are free outright, since Google does not charge for the APIs. Can agents write content from this data?
That is the point of chaining them. A thread can pull the queries you rank badly for, crawl the page that ranks, search for what the better results cover, and draft the brief — then push it to WordPress or Webflow. The reason to host these together rather than configure them one by one is that the chain only works when one model can reach all four.
